Websites to Watch-2: HOLYBOOKS.COM

Prof Raghunathan very kindly drew my attention to this wonderful website and provided me the link.  Since then I have downloaded many great books and have also enrolled for the Monthly Newsletter the site sends. The site is HOLYBOOKS.COM.  I am reproducing the info provided by the site, about it:

"Holy Books is the largest collection of high quality sacred texts, holy books, spiritual texts as PDF ebooks you will find on the Internet. All books are free to download. For example you can download the Bible, download the Quaran, the Vedas and thousands of ancient texts on religion and spiritual practice.

All books are Free Public Domain Books. This means that you can download and read them for free from this site. If you are aware of books that should be on this site please contact me, by sending an email to webmaster: hh@ytr.dk. I sometimes get mails about possible copyright infringement. I have removed some books because I have made a mistake about copyright, but some books where actually public domain books despite what the publishers told me. When I am in doubt about the status of a book I use these copyright guidelines for books (This website is operated from Denmark, and therefore 'the author life + 70 years' is what I follow as a general guideline)'

I am reproducing below a recent mail (newsletter) I received from Holybooks.com:

"Dear friends of Holybooks.com. Here are the latest additions to the library. Holybooks.com is now ready for a lot more traffic. During the last month a lot of work have been done on the server to make the site work faster. All pages loads a lot quicker now and it should be a better experience to use the site, not the least for all our users from remote areas, far away from the servers physical position in Frankfurt, Germany.

The number of subscribers to this newsletter has from now on exceeded 2.500 receivers and will cost 20 USD pr. month to send out. If anyone is be interested in sponsoring this newsletter, I would be happy to mention your business, website etc. here or on the website.
