How to Get Free Books
from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit
If you're a voracious reader on a budget, there are many ways to get your fix!
Steps
- Check out online giving groups such as Freecycle.org. Some users in your area might be giving books away, and they'll be happy for you to take them off of their hands.
- Find a swapping website. Some involve swapping your old books for others' unwanted books, such as BookMooch.com. Some involve taking part in a big and generous community such as BookCrossing.com. Some involve swapping unwanted stuff for other unwanted stuff (so you can get rid of old DVDs and exchange them for books), such as SwapShop.co.uk.
- Go dumpster/skip-diving after hours at charity shops and thrift shops.
- Spread the word among family and friends that you're looking for a good read - someone will be happy to lend or give you a book they enjoyed.
- Read free ebooks or use google books to get a few sample pages of the books to the full book
